(3-person-group project in Bachelor's degree, in 2013)

This project started by exploring the properties of iron tubes, experimenting with their spatial configuration and structural possibilities. From such abstract formal exercises, we then developed a unique piece of skeletal street furniture, designed to encourage social networking in Hong Kong’s Lan Kwai Fong street – a vibrant area of the city, favoured by expats for its nightlife.

Inspired partly by the infinity symbol, but foremost by the character of Lan Kwai Fong itself, the result was a dynamic three-sided triangular frame. Dispersed along the street, these unusual forms could function as props for leaning or sitting on, while friends drink, laugh, and make new connections.
